LIP BLUSH

A Lip Blush focuses on the natural lip colour and border, maintaining definition and colour in the lips and creating a lip tint effect. Subtle or bright colours can be used to achieve your desired look.

BEFORE & AFTER

How to make sure your results last

Before each cosmetic lip tattoo treatment, the skin should be healthy and not burnt, healing or in the process of regeneration.

To prepare for your treatment, please avoid the following for at least 30 days beforehand:

  • Lip treatments
  • Fruit or lactic acids
  • Laser treatments
  • Chemical peel
  • Exposure to strong sunlight.
During the first day gently, without rubbing, cleanse your lips with lukewarm water every 30–60 minutes. Remove lymph from your lips to prevent creation of big scabs. Having removed the lymph, apply the recommended cream on your lips. This cream can be applied any time when the client feels tightening of the lips in the following seven days.

During the first seven days, avoid saunas, swimming pools, makeup on the lips area, sun tanning and cosmetic treatments. If necessary, correction can be done four weeks later, when the lips are fully regenerated to address any faded pigmentation. Lip refreshment can be done once a year if a client wants a more intense colour.

In order to preserve the colour for as long as possible, use SPF on the area when sun tanning. If you’re having facial treatments, gently cover your lips with cotton pads to keep them protected.

Questions
What would you like to know?

Lip tattooing is a form of semi-permanent makeup that supports the natural colour, shape and definition of your lips. Using specialised cosmetic tattoo techniques, pigment is carefully implanted into the lips to create a look that ranges from a subtle blush to a more defined tint. The goal is always to highlight your natural features while saving you time on your daily routine.

A lip tattoo offers long-lasting definition and colour, meaning you wake up with polished lips every day. It can:

  • Help maintain symmetry and shape to uneven lips
  • Add a flush of colour
  • Minimise the need for lipstick or liner
  • Save time in your beauty routine

Lip blushing is one of the most popular styles of lip tattooing. It creates a soft, natural wash of colour similar to a tinted lip balm effect. Lip tattooing is the broader term that covers lip blushing as well as other techniques such as lip liner, full lip tint and ombré shading.

Yes. As the pigment naturally fades over time, a touch-up ensures your colour stays fresh and defined, just like when you first had it done. The first touch-up is usually booked between six and 12 weeks after your initial appointment, which allows us to maintain the colour and shape once your lips have fully healed. This doesn’t mean the entire tattoo needs to be redone. In some cases, only certain areas or shades need refreshing. Beyond that, you may eventually need further touch-ups every few months or years, depending on how your lips hold pigment and the look you’d like to maintain.

When considering lip tattoo in Sydney, it’s important to look for someone with proven experience and formal training in cosmetic tattooing. Just as important are strong hygiene and safety practices, ensuring both your comfort and peace of mind throughout the process. Finally, a professional artist should always take the time to consult with you to understand your goals and recommend the most suitable technique.

You may experience some of the following;

  • Scabbing — If this happens, do not pick the scab! It will naturally fall off on its own.
  • Itchiness — This indicates the healing process is well on its way. Try not to touch your lips when you feel this sensation.
  • Redness — This will subside within the first few days.
  • Dry lips — The key to a fully healed lip tattoo is keeping your lips constantly hydrated.

It is recommended that you get cosmetic aesthetic treatments no less than 21 days BEFORE or AFTER tattooing your lips.

Your lips will be completely healed after four weeks.

You only need to wait for seven days after your appointment before getting them wet or sweaty!

Yes, you can wear face makeup straight away if you’re avoiding the lip area. We prefer if you do not wear lip makeup for at least seven to 10 days after your appointment whilst it is an open wound.

Your initial appointment takes 2.5 hours and generally your touch-up will only take 1.5 hours depending on the healed result from your initial appointment.

During your consultation, we’ll talk through the different styles and colour options available, from very soft and subtle to more defined. The aim is to choose a look that feels comfortable for you and complements your preferences.

Yes, we can fix this with non-laser tattoo removal. We do not recommend tattooing over the top of your current “bad” lip tattoo.

A lip tattoo lasts three to five years before needing a colour boost. Each client’s result varies depending on how quickly the skin metabolises the pigment.

A consultation will always be carried out beforehand to ensure your safety and discuss any concerns.

Please book in a consultation if you have any of the following conditions, as this may affect your treatment:

  • Diabetes Type 1 or 2 — Is your condition being managed? Your healing may be impaired and/or affect the healed outcome. An approval letter from your general practitioner is required before we can proceed with treatment.
  • High or low blood pressure — You may feel slightly dizzy; please note your treatment will take a total of 2 hours per session.

You can expect your lips to be slightly swollen for one to two days, especially if you are very sensitive. You may experience some itchiness, dryness or redness, which should subside within seven to 10 days.

Before each treatment, the skin should not be burnt, nor in recovery or regeneration process.

The following treatments are not recommended 30 days before the treatment:

  • Cosmetic aesthetic treatments
  • Fruit or lactic acids
  • Laser treatments
  • Chemical peel
  • Exposure to strong sunlight

Please also:

  • Do not drink alcohol for two days before the treatment
