Do not use your nails as tools!
We know it’s tempting, but using your nails to open cans, scratch stickers, and to remove stubborn spots and get into tricky corners while cleaning can encourage lifting and chipping of your nail enhancements. Grab something to help you out or encourage your partner to do the housework instead.
Keep them moisturised!
A rich hand cream and regular cuticle oil application will extend the life of your manicure by providing a protective barrier that prevents your skin and nails from drying out. You can find out CND Solar oil in store and online, not only does it smell gorgeous, it’s super hydrating!
Wear gloves!
Hand washing and housework can allow moisture to be absorbed into the nail which may encourage lifting of your nail enhancements due to the natural nail swelling underneath. Wear rubber gloves to provide extra protection.
Banish picking and peeling!
While it can be tempting to lift the corner of a chipped mani and work your way through, avoid this at all costs. Not only will your manicure have a shorter life, you will take layers of your natural nail with it.

Smoothing away any chips between your salon visits will prevent splitting or lifting. Ragged edges can catch on clothing and snag delicate fabrics. A rough edge also hold water and may shorten the life of your manicure. If you chip the edge of your nail, gently buff the edge. For major breakages, get into the salon ASAP!
