What is scalp micropigmentation?

hair tattoo scalp micropigmentation

Hair loss can be very difficult. Whether it’s because of medication, genetics or a skin disorder it can really lower your confidence. But with Scalp Micropigmentation, we can achieve undetectable, natural-looking results and regain self-esteem.

Scalp Micropigmentation also known as “Hair Tattoo” is a relatively new permanent, non-invasive, affordable alternative to hair transplant surgeries.

At Eva Mercedes Cosmetic Studio, we offer professional hair tattoo/scalp micropigmentation treatments at our comfortable, modern clinic in Drummoyne, NSW. If you suffer from alopecia or have pattern or partial baldness, this advanced hair tattoo treatment can be used to create a realistic hair like pattern that fills in the gaps in your natural hair, creating natural depth and definition. This effect is achieved by tattooing tiny dots in layers on the affected areas of your scalp, a procedure that our highly skilled technicians perform in a safe and hygienic environment. The final look for men is a closely shaved head of hair with a natural hairline. For women, the technique is great for thinning hair areas, to achieve a look of darker hair follicles and incredibly realistic results.

This solution to alopecia and pattern baldness is very effective for men and women with thinning hair. For men who want to experience more confidence, it’s become popular to use hair tattoo treatments in Australia for replication of the absent hair of their youth, for an amazing effect that is completely natural and realistic in appearance.

For women experiencing hair loss or hair thinning, we can help you achieve a denser looking head full of hair. You will experience natural looking results and an overall better looking head of hair after. If you have naturally dark or light hair, scalp micropigmentation treatment can be just as effective as synthetic hair fibres at disguising thinning hair, with the added advantage that it is impervious to wind or rain and does not need to be reapplied on a daily basis.

It is a cosmetic treatment that consists of tiny dots, which are tattooed onto the scalp in many layers. These layers of dots create a highly realistic illusion of thicker hair for people with long hair and can also create a realistic 5 o’clock shadow effect for men who regularly shave their hair. But is scalp micropigmentation permanent? A hair tattoo should be considered as a permanent treatment, but you may notice some fading over the years. Some people opt to have a colour boost after 5 years or so if their pattern baldness/ thinning has progressed.

Some of you may wonder if there is any damage to the hair with scalp tattooing but when performed by an experienced professional, there is no need to worry about potential hair loss. The specialised tattoo needle that we use will only penetrate to a depth of around 2 mm: your hair follicles are much deeper than this and will not be affected. It is a maintenance free, highly effective cosmetic solution for thinning hair and pattern baldness.

Now I know you may be thinking – does scalp micropigmentation hurt? When compared to tattoos on other parts of the body, it is a far more comfortable experience in general (according to those who have tried both). Everybody has a different pain threshold, but the vast majority of our clients tell us that the hair micropigmentation process involves very little to no discomfort.

How much does scalp micropigmentation cost?
